There's something about a new book that I find extremely satisfying, comforting almost. The feel, the smell, the crisp pages and the glossy cover. I am the kind of girl who would rather carry a newly purchased book in my hand then risk it being crumpled in a plastic bag. I scold people who fold down the corner of a page to help them find their place; the pages of my books are far too precious for such a thing!

Today marks the first post of LIBrary. If you haven't already guessed, name is Libby and I am a current student of Media and Communications [BA Hons] at the University of Winchester.

You might have taken the time to read the 'About Me' section of the blog [if you haven't, I can't say I blame you], and if you did you will have learned that my resolution for the year of 2018 is to read more. This stemmed in part because I believed I was spending too much time on technology before I went to sleep and it was interfering with my sleeping patterns but, also because my passion for reading has slightly wavered since starting University. My bucket list of books I want to read before I die is ENDLESS, ranging from the classics such as Wuthering Heights, Great Expectations and Captain Corelli's Mandolin, to the not so classic A Clockwork Orange, Fight Club and Memoir's of a Geisha. As of 17:07 on Tuesday 16th January I have read two books [Blind Fury by Lynda La Plante and Good Me Bad Me by Ali Land] which leaves me with a good feeling for the year ahead!

If you remain loyal to this blog [and I hope you do!] you will bear witness to my creative musings as I make my way through an array of authors imaginations. My aim is to critique each book I read, tell you what I loved [or hated] most about each piece of fiction and why it might be the next book on your own reading schedule. Along the way, you will also find reading recommendations and perhaps, if you're lucky, pieces of my own imagination to fill the gaps in between my own reading. Who knows, this might ignite a passion for reading inside of you that you never even knew existed!
